How To Unlock And Hack Memory Card When You Forget Your Memory Card Password

Some times it happens that you forgot the password of your memory card and you have lots of your important data in your phone. So there are two types of methods for recovering the password of your memory card with the help of nokia phone.

For Nokia s60 1st and 2nd edition phones.

1. First Install FExplorer in your phone memory.

2. Got to drive C: , you will find a file called mmcstore

3. Send it to your pc directly and open it in notepad or rename the file.

4. At the end of the file you will find your password.

For Nokia S60 3rd Phones, Nokia N-Series and Nokia E-Series There is almost no way yet known to hack the memory card password in case of these types of phone but there is a way to do it some of the s60 3rd edition phones and almost all the E-series phones. The remote lock option in E-Series phone allws you to unlock your phone by sending a sms. The only thing you have to do is to activate this feature by going to Tools | Settings | Security | Phone and SIM | Allow remote lock menu. The password of your memory card will be your remote lock message. So you have to just send a sms containing your remote lock message that will automatically change your memory card passsword.

Just whipping your brand new iPhone out of the box and want to learn some cool tips and tricks about using it? Or are you an iPhone pro who wants to make sure you know all the shortcuts and hidden features of your phone? Finding yourself somewhere in between those two extremes? No matter your level of expertise, this detailed list of iPhone tips and tricks has something for everyone. You’ll notice that some tips and tricks have links within the tip. These links provide more detailed instruction or information about that particular tip or subject.

Much time was spent compiling this list of great hidden (and not so hidden) features of iPhone. However, there will always be more tips and tricks to learn. Know of a special iPhone trick that you don’t see listed here? Comment and let us know what it is.

Tips for Customizing Your iPhone

Owning one of the most user-friendly smartphones on the market, the last thing you want is for your phone to be the same as every other iPhone user. Apple built in many features to allow customization of your iPhone. The first round of tips will pertain to customizing your iPhone to make it your own.

1. Don’t like the layout of your home screen? You can easily rearrange the iPhone app icons. Press and hold any app icon until all icons begin to shake on the screen. Hold and drag the app icon you wish to move. All surrounding apps will change their position as you move an icon.

Move iPhone icons

2. Don’t want that plain black background anymore? You can change the background on iPhone two ways: 1. Go to Settings > Wallpaper > Select a pre-made wallpaper, or 2. Select a photo from your camera roll, select the send button and press “Use as Wallpaper.

3. You can dramatically change the color scheme to “White on Black”. It gives the phone a funky color set and makes your photos look more like negatives. To try it out go to Settings > General > Accessibility > White on Black to ON.

4. Have a hard time reading the small text on your phone? You can make text larger by going to Settings > General > Accessibility > Large Text > Select text size. The changes in text size will affect Calendar, Contacts, Mail, Messages and Notes.

5. Change your ringtone easily. Select from a standard iPhone ringtone or create a custom ringtone with iTunes. Change your current ringtone by going to Settings > Ringtone > Select your new ringtone.

6. Sick of the standard iPhone message tone? You can change iPhone text tones by going to Settings > Sounds > Text Tone.

7. Organize the music in your iPod by creating playlists in iPhone’s iPod app.

8. Adding apps to your phone is the ultimate way to customize your iPhone. Find new iPhone apps that interest you by visiting the App Store from your phone.

App Store

9. For even more customization techniques, you can always jailbreak your iPhone. This will allow you access to many features that aren’t currently available to unjailbroken iPhones, such as different iPhone themes.

Now that your iPhone is customized, we’ll continue with a few tricks that aren’t always common knowledge about using and navigating your phone.

10. Easily switch between apps using iPhone’s multitasking feature. While on any screen, double tap the home button. Swipe right on the menu that pops up on the bottom of the screen to switch to a different app.

Multitasking menu

11. Use iPod controls while the screen is locked by pressing the home button twice. The iPod controls will appear on the locked screen.

12. Is your screen changing orientation (from horizontal to vertical) when you don’t want it to? Lock the screen orientation by double tapping the home button. Scroll to the left. Press the icon with a circle arrow to lock the screen in it’s current orientation. Now the screen will not change, even if you flip your phone to it’s side.

Lock Screen Orientation

13. Want a picture of what you are looking at on your phone’s screen? Taking screenshots on iPhone is simple. Press and hold the Sleep and Home button simultaneously. You will see a flash and hear a click when a photo of the screen has been taken. The screenshot can be found in your camera roll.

14. To take better pictures with your iPhone camera, tap the screen before taking your picture. This focuses the camera and gives you the option to zoom in or out.

15. When on a call and a new call beeps in, you can add the new caller into your current conversation. Place the current call on hold and answer the phone. Press “merge calls” to join both calls into one.

Merge calls

16. Sick of scrolling through all your contacts? Put the contacts you use the most in your phone’s Favorites.

17. Quickly scroll to the top of the page by tapping the top bar once (where your battery, phone signal and time are listed).

18. Set parental controls by going to Settings > General > Restrictions > Enable Restrictions. You can then choose what you want restricted and a pass code to unlock those features of the phone.

19. Save images from Safari by tapping and holding the picture until the save or copy menu pops up.

Save image

20. For a frequently visited website, you can add an icon to your home screen that will take you directly to the site. While on the page you want saved, press the share button. Press “Add to Home Screen”. This creates an icon that takes you straight to that web page in Safari.

21. Create bookmarks of your favorite websites on iPhone’s Safari by pressing the share button while on the website. Select “Add Bookmark”.

22. To see the site name and URL for a link on the Internet before clicking it, tap and hold down on the link until a box pops up with the full information.

Show Link URL

23. Want some tips to save battery life? Turn off 3G, turn off your Wi-Fi (unless you’re using it) and disable push notifications and push emails.

24. Don’t want to answer that call? There are several ways to ignore the call: 1) Press ignore on the screen, 2) Press the Sleep button on the top of your phone one time to silence the ringer or 3) Press the Sleep button twice. This acts the same as the ignore button and sends the caller straight to your voicemail.

25. Instead of swiping to change pages on your home screen, press in the lower right or left hand corner to instantly change the page. Tap once right above the dock icons (the ones that don’t move) on either side.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Tips

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Battery Life

Something that you may have noticed about this particular mobile phone is that it has quite a short battery life. The power seems to go down very rapidly which can be annoying, so here are some handy hints to increase the length of time you can go between charges. First it’s important not to have apps running in the background which will drain the power quickly even though you may not be aware that any apps are running at all. You can use a task killer app (like Advanced Task Killer or Start-up Auditor) to turn off any background apps. If you’re not in a 3G area then it’s a good idea to choose GSM only from the settings menu and you can also turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth when they are not being used to lower the rate of battery consumption.

It’s also possible to adjust the brightness setting so you could put this to around halfway instead of using the automatic brightness. Lowering the frequency of Twitter and Facebook updates will maximize your juice, as will turning off automatic widget updates like weather forecasts. If you want to see exactly what’s using the battery the most you can download a power management app like Juice Defender or Juice Plotter which will show you a nice graph of power consumption. In any case you should find that your battery life increases after 4 or 5 full charges and using these tips will make it go even further.

Secret Menu

Xperia X10 Secret Service MenuThe Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 has a secret menu which you can unlock using the following combination of buttons in sequence. In the lock screen simply press MENU, BACK, BACK, MENU, BACK, MENU, MENU, BACK. This will give you access to lots of functions within the secret menu.

Safe Mode and Full Screen Video

If you want a quick way to enter safe mode, reboot the phone and when it vibrates press the volume down key. To increase the speed of your mobile it’s a good idea to restart it after updates. If you enjoy watching videos on your phone then a cool feature is the ability to change the video to full screen mode by double tapping it while it is playing. This will stretch it to full screen without affecting the pixel ratio as long as the video is in the 16:9 ratio.
Root your Sony Ericsson Xperia X10

There is also a quick way to root your Xperia X10 which is useful for running root only apps like Titanium Back-up and also enables you to turn your phone into a wireless hotspot, using the Barnade Wi-Fi app, amongst other numerous benefits. Download and install Universal Androot and then it’s a case of just pressing the root button which takes all of the hassle out of the process.

TV and International Calls

If you want to watch live TV on your mobile you can download Beebplayer, which will also give you access to the BBC i-player. To get free international phone calls download the free Skype application and you can talk to your friends overseas for as long as you like without paying a penny.

1. Ericsson Phone Firmware
—————————–

1.1 How do I find out what version of firmware is on my phone?

To access the service menu on all Ericsson phones, enter the following
key sequence:

Right Arrow, Star, Left Arrow, Left Arrow, Star, Left Arrow, Star (
>*<<*<* )

(If your phone has a joystick, you can move the joystick left and
right as indicated to achieve the same result.)

Next, select "Service Information" and then "Software Information"

The first line displays the software version of your phone, the first
three characters being significant (e.g. R4A008 = R4A)

————————————————

1.2 What is the latest version of firmware for my phone?

R380s ? R1D (R4A for organiser)

1.2.3 Current firmware releases for other phones

————————————————

1.3 How do I upgrade the firmware on my phone?

To upgrade the firmware on your phone you MUST return it to an
authorised Sony Ericsson service centre. It is NOT possible to
download firmware or build a cable to upgrade the firmware yourself.
Check the Sony Ericsson web site (http://www.sonyericsson.com) for
your nearest service centre.

Upgrades are free in most countries if your phone is still within its
warranty period.

————————————————

1.4 I think I’ve got a problem — what can I do?

First off, search Google Groups (http://groups.google.com) to see if
anyone else has had a similar issue. If you include
"alt.cellular.ericsson" in the search box, this will narrow the search
down to this newsgroup.

If you cannot find any relevant articles, post a message to the
newsgroup and include the following information:

* Which phone you have
* What version of firmware you have
* A description of the problem
* What you to reproduce the problem

If you are not able to reproduce the problem, you might want to hold
off posting until you can — sometimes phones are temperamental and
will not misbehave on demand!

To contact your local service centre, go to the Sony Ericsson web site
(http://www.sonyericsson.com), select your country and then click on
the link for Support to access a list of service centres.

1.4.1 The T39 "70 hour" bug

Some T39′s exhibit a problem where, according to the status display, a
full battery charge will only permit a standby time of 70 hours.

This "70 hour" bug is resolved by a firmware patch which is separate
to the regular firmware upgrades.

If your phone has this problem, you need to make it clear to the staff
at the Service Centre that you need the 70 hour patch, not just a
firmware update.

1.4.2 The T39 "No Network" bug

Another T39 nuance is often described as the "No Network" bug. The
symptoms of this bug are that a T39 will start to display "No Network"
even when you should usually have a strong signal.

Unfortunately, things only get worse from here. The transmitter
circuitry on the phone develops physical damage which requires the
phone to be replaced by a Service Centre.

Phones manufactured before Week 50, 2001 are prone to this problem.

To check the manufacture date of your T39, look at the bar code under
the battery, near where the SIM Card is inserted. The manufacture
date is in the format xxWyy, where xx is the year of manufacture and
yy is the week (e.g. 01W48 = the 48th week of 2001)

————————————————

1.5 How do I check my phones IMEI? **

An IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is a unique serial
number assigned to your phone when it is manufactured.

The IMEI is useful to the GSM network as it identifies the type of
phone you are using, and the features it has (such as if it is capable
of using WAP).

It is useful to know your IMEI if your phone is lost or stolen, as
some GSM networks have (or are implementing) the ability to block, or
"lock out" phones based on the IMEI.

To see the IMEI, enter *#06# — this is a standard GSM key sequence
which should work on phones from all manufacturers.

Alternatively, on Ericsson phones, the IMEI can also be displayed by
accessing the service menu (see FAQ section 1.1) and then selecting
"Service Info" and then "Configuration".

The first entry in this display is the IMEI of your phone.

1.6 Handy menu shortcuts **

The following are menu shortcuts that can be entered from the default
display.

Particularly good to know when somehow your language settings have
been modified (amusing the first two times it happens, it starts to
wear thin from there).

1.6.1 Reset to default language **

Left Arrow, Eight, Eight, Eight, Eight, Right Arrow ( <8888> )

(If your phone has a joystick, you can move the joystick left and
right as indicated to achieve the same result.)

[Contributed from a post by Michael Pronay (pronay@gmx.at)]

1.6.2 Reset to English language **

Left Arrow, Zero, Zero, Zero, Zero, Right Arrow ( <0000> )

(If your phone has a joystick, you can move the joystick left and
right as indicated to achieve the same result.)

[Contributed from a post by Michael Pronay (pronay@gmx.at)]

————————————————

1.7 Various firmware nuances **

1.7.1 Call times in the call list (Why is the time of all calls in
the call list reset after I change the SIM?) **

If you change the SIM, the time of all calls in the list will be reset
to the time when you switched on the phone. This is an automatic
feature and cannot be changed.

[Contributed by Ole Streicher (ole-usenet-06@gmx.net)]

1.7.2 How can I find out when a call came in? **

The T39 call list only displays the date for any entries in the call
history that are not the current day. If I missed a call yesterday it
only lists yesterday’s date and not the time as well.

There is a little work-around: Change the phone’s date to the day of
the missed call and then it will display the time as well.

[Contributed by Olaf Peuss (olaf.peussNOSPAM@gmx.net)]

1.7.3 Is it possible to talk with the flip closed? **

Yes, moving the volume key up and holding it in this position will
allow you to close the flip whilst talking.

[Contributed by Olaf Peuss (olaf.peussNOSPAM@gmx.net)]

1.7.4 Save a number from a text message (How can I save a number sent
by text message to the phone book?) **

Highlight the number by using the menu keys, press YES to dial and
immediately afterwards NO to cancel the call before you are connected.
Now the number is in the call list and can be saved to the phone as
described in the manual. Unfortunately, this is the only work-around
for this slightly annoying problem.

[Contributed by Michael Pronay (pronay@gmx.at)]

1.7.5 Disable "tick tick tick" (Is there a way to disable the
annoying "tick tick tick" tone when the phone logs onto the network?)
**

Turn off the ring tone before turning off the handset by pressing "C"
key for a second and confirming with "YES". When you turn on the
handset everything will be completely silent – but don’t forget to
switch "ring tone silent" back.

[Contributed by Michael Pronay (pronay@gmx.at)]

1.7.6 GPRS connections that fail (Sometimes GPRS connections with a
T39m fail for no apparent reason when trying to use the T39m as a
laptop modem) **

Experience has shown that the T39 is quite reluctant to set up a GPRS
connection when power is two thirds down (or less). Notebooks usually
report a modem error. Connecting the phone to the charger should help
immediately.

[Contributed by Michael Pronay (pronay@gmx.at)]

1.7.7 Hiding or showing my phone number (How can I show/hide my phone
number to/from people I call? The respective menu options are greyed
out) **

You can only show/hide your number when you type in the call
receiver’s number by hand (not from the phone book) and then select
the menu option you wish to use.

If you wish to hide your number from certain call receivers, you may
store their numbers with the GSM hash code #31# in front of them.

Note that for all numbers in the international format, the GSM hash
code needs to be entered between the plus sign and the first digit of
the country code. Also note that you will not be able to send text
messages to numbers stored with a hash code.

2. Ericsson Phone Hardware
—————————–

2.1 How do I open my phone?

Please note the following warning!

Proceed at your own risk as you are almost certainly voiding your
warranty if you open your phone anywhere other than at a Sony Ericsson
Service Centre!

If that did not scare you off, this website has diagrams of how to
open most models:

http://www.es-o-em.de/tigerente/open/open.html

————————————————

2.2 Tips to save power **

2.2.1 Switch off GPRS **

Ericsson GPRS capable phones have GPRS enabled by default. This
consumes extra power.

If you turn off GPRS, the phone will turn it back on automatically
when it is needed (e.g. when you access a WAP service via GPRS or make
a GPRS modem call), and then switch it back off when you end the GPRS
session.

To turn off GPRS, select "Settings", "Data comm.", "Pref. service" and
change "GPRS and GSM" to "GSM only".

After turning off GPRS, your standby time will increase.

3. PC Software
—————–

Depending on which phone you have, PC Software allows you to
synchronise your phone with your PC contact management system, edit
start up or background images, or even use your phone as a cellular
modem.

3.1 Where do I get PC Software for my phone? **

If your phone did not come with a CD (or maybe you misplaced it, or do
not have a CD ROM drive on your PC), you can download PC Software from
the Sony Ericsson web site at http://www.sonyericsson.com

Once you reach this site, select the Global Support Area option and
enter the model of your phone into the product finder.

This then leads to the appropriate support page which, depending on
the model of your phone, will contain a link to software appropriate
for your phone.

Should you not have the original CD but the software update continues
to ask for it, just select the Sony Ericsson T65 software. It works
with the T39m, T68m and T68i as well and does not bother you with
prompts for the original CD when installing.
